Few days ago, our local partner organisation Mwanamke Kesho Asbl organised a successful workshop on transformational leadership, conflict management and mentorship in Kabare, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The workshop was implemented within the “Wasichana na Amani” project (Eng. Girls and Peace project), supported by Kvinna till Kvinna and the United Nations Peacebuilding.Despite the difficult situation in the DRC, our partners persist in their efforts to help women and local communities.
The event brought together 50 young women — participants from several local organisations to address key topics of transformational leadership, conflict management, mentoring and networking. Over the course of several days, participants engaged in energetic discussions and hands-on capacity building sessions, devised in such manner as to empower young women and girls to foster meaningful change in their communities, specifically also in the South Kivu.“In a region facing numerous security challenges, we successfully created a space for dialogue and growth.
