Day 8 of 16DaysOfActivism against GBV,
Today, we highlight the immense challenges faced by displaced women, those who have had to flee their homes due to violence or disaster. These brave women endure not only the pain of losing their homes but also increased risks of gender-based violence and significant barriers to accessing justice.
Despite these hardships, they show incredible resilience. Their rights to fair justice, dignified protection, and opportunities to rebuild their lives are fundamental and non-negotiable.
Access to justice is about more than just legal remedies; it’s about dignity and restoring equality. When displaced women can claim their rights, they not only heal but also contribute to social cohesion and sustainable development.
As part of our “Ponya Na Ujenge Upya” campaign, we emphasize that these women must not be forgotten. Their voices need to be heard, and their rights must be protected.
Let’s stand together in this crucial fight for the rights of displaced women!
