On December 4th, youth organizations, including us Mwanamke Kesho, registered with the Provincial Youth Council, had the pleasure of meeting with Madame Marry, the Peace and Security Program Manager at USAID in the DRC, during her visit to Bukavu.
We advocated for meaningful involvement of youth, particularly young women, not just in participation but in taking on leadership roles. Madame Marry, along with her colleague, shared insights on various ongoing processes and programs, encouraging youth organizations to apply for opportunities.
As MONUSCO has now departed, they are preparing urgent activities, we hope the voices and proposals of young people will be taken into account during this transitional period. It’s crucial that we implement effective measures that address the challenges ahead and promote sustainable peace
