Huge progress to share on our climate change work in rural South Kivu!
As the country coordinator selected by the Open Dialogue Foundation, we recently hosted the second open dialogues that gave 30 young women from local communities a platform to share their concerns and ideas.
The events took place at our Mwanamke Kesho office, providing an inclusive in-person setting for the participants to freely express the very real climate-related issues their communities face. Concerns ranged from unpredictable weather to the lack of clean energy access.
But the dialogues didn’t stop there. The young women also established a weekly meetup group to continue collaborating and taking concrete action under Youth Space program. During these sessions, they’ll share knowledge, coordinate awareness campaigns, and advocate together for better climate policies.
We’re so inspired by the passion and solutions-oriented approach of these rural young leaders. Their voices and grassroots efforts will be key as we expand our climate justice programming. Stay tuned for more updates on this impactful initiative.
